SMAGRO was established in 2008 in Surabaya, East Java, as a natural evolution of Toko Sumber Makmur, a trusted agricultural shop founded in 1981 in Jombang. What began with serving local farmers in Jombang and nearby areas has grown into a nationwide agribusiness network, trusted by farming communities across Indonesia.
From the very beginning, our mission has been clear: to support farmers with quality agricultural solutions that improve productivity, profitability, and long-term sustainability. To achieve this, SMAGRO partners with reputable formulators and suppliers, ensuring that only proven and reliable products reach the hands of farmers.
We believe the strength of our business lies not only in products, but also in relationships.
Our growth has been built on a network of stakeholders who share the same values of commitment, trust, mutual benefit, and constructive communication. Over the years, SMAGRO has expanded its reach beyond distribution — developing proprietary brands in agrochemicals, fertilizers, micronutrients, farming equipment, and biostimulants, reflecting our commitment to meet farmers' needs today while preparing them for the challenges of tomorrow.

Toko Sumber Makmur was established in Jombang, East Java.
PT. Sumber Makmur Agroindo (SMAGRO) was incorporated in Surabaya.
PT. Sumber Makmur Agroindo opened an office in the capital city of East Java, Surabaya.
SMAGRO began recruiting competent, high-integrity young talent to help run the business under one vision — "for better agriculture." At the same time, we added collaborations with local and multinational formulators to complete SMAGRO's product portfolio.
SMAGRO intensified its existing markets and began expanding outside Java — into Bali, NTB, NTT, South Sulawesi, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, Maluku, and Irian Jaya (Papua) — and still growing.
Opened a stock point in Semarang, Central Java, to provide better service to farmers and retailers in Central Java.
